Lovely Bones

Last week I decided that I was going to work with beads that I normally wouldn't and I ended up being drawn to these white pieces. Usually I work with chains, wire and dark semi precious stones but something wouldn't let me leave the store without them! The first and third pair are actually my favorites! What do you think?

*The title "Lovely Bones" popped into my head because these white pieces really reminded me of what I'd image polished bones would look like and they do look lovely!

Hermes

Model: Crystal
Photographer: D. (Me)
Body Chain: "Hermes"

This was shot was taken from a conceptual photoshoot thought up by one of the members of the Fashionable Demand Team in Milwaukee. The title was "Hungry for Fashion" and the main focus was to feature local talent as well as to showcase the wardrobe styling capabilities of the team. The look that Crystal is wearing is still one of my favorites!

Demeter's Jacket

Model & MUA: Kristin Souvigny

Body Chain: "Demeter's Jacket"

This is one of the first pieces that I ever worked on for this collection. Although it didn't make the final cut it was definitely fun experimenting with this particular concept!

Designing For The Gods

In the early stages when most of the pieces were still just rough sketches I’d laid out the two that were complete at the time  to gain perspective and draw inspiration from for the rest of the designs that were to come. Immediately I thought of royalty when I looked them over. Despite their bold look they  managed to compliment one another. Together they looked as though they belonged in the wardrobe of a person of royal blood. In a sense this collection was comprised of  pieces that were designed to adorn the body of one with dark royal blood in them and so because of this I chose to name Bao Mae’s first and current collection The Daro Collection. Though the deities in greek mythology might not have been royalty in the traditional sense they did reign over the heavens, earth and even the underworld. Each design is named after a figure in greek myth. From Athena Goddess of Wisdom to Nyx the primordial Goddess of the Night. When all is said and done Bao Mae produces pieces that are dark, mysterious, elegant and bold. Adornments that celebrate individuality and encourages people to be fearless in their creative expression as well as confident in their personal appearance. Dare to be different!
